However, it is considered an invasive species in some regions, such as North Carolina, due to its vigorous growth and ability to displace native plants. The tree's seeds contain a neurotoxin that can be harmful to livestock and dogs if ingested. Despite its beauty, the Silk Tree requires careful consideration before planting due to its potential invasiveness and the toxicity of its seeds.
